Engineering designed to
disappear into the
experience.

Audio Systems Manager recently relocated from New York to Austin, TX. A decade spent across festival main stages, electronic music venues, touring productions, private events, and immersive installations. Recently led audio systems operations at Avant Gardner — the company behind Brooklyn Mirage, Great Hall, and Kings Hall — overseeing key portions of the Mirage's 5,000-capacity outdoor rebuild and maintaining the networked audio infrastructure across all three venues, including more than 15 Lake processors, DiGiCo console systems, and the largest U.S. installation of KV2 Audio deployed over a Dante network.

Beyond venue operations: an independent creative practice in immersive environments, sensory installations, and spatial audio — where sound, vibration, and the body are the medium.

Avant Gardner — Mirage · Great Hall · Kings Hall

Audio Systems Manager at Avant Gardner, the company behind Brooklyn Mirage, Great Hall, and Kings Hall. Oversaw key portions of the wiring, rebuild, and deployment of the audio system for the Mirage — Brooklyn's flagship 5,000-capacity outdoor electronic music venue — and maintained the systems across the company's two indoor rooms. Managed the crew through the Mirage build, then ran the room once the doors opened.

Outcome
Three rooms an incoming A1 can step into and run with confidence.

Tuning Temple

An immersive spatial and tactile audio environment where sound is experienced physically as well as acoustically. Custom haptic platforms translate low-frequency energy directly into the body, combining spatial audio, vibration, lighting, and responsive systems into a unified sensory experience. The environments incorporate subtle brainwave entrainment techniques through synchronized rhythmic audio and lighting structures designed to encourage relaxation, presence, and interpersonal connection within the room.

The Qube

A kinetic LED structure with a kaleidoscopic interior geometry that answers to motion. I was one of two build engineers and the sole LED programmer — every pixel, every behavior, every sync to incoming motion data was authored end to end in Resolume. The Qube has anchored immersive rooms at Psychedelic Assembly's 2024 flagship event and Zamna at Avant Gardner's Great Hall.

Studio & Rehearsal Floor

Six years at Carroll Music engineering live sound for Broadway rehearsals and sessions with A-list touring artists across seven rooms — daily scheduling, backline maintenance, and inventory across all of them. Audio Technology graduate from SAE Institute NYC, where the heavy rooms ran SSL 4000G+ and Neve 88r. First in the school's history to receive both the Sonum Perfectum and Tom Misner Opportunities scholarships.

03 / Philosophy

Philosophy

The best engineering disappears. Sound, light, timing — when these elements align, they do not draw attention to themselves. They draw attention to the moment.

An audience never says "the gain structure was beautiful tonight." They say it felt different in there. That feeling is not an accident. It is the residue of dozens of quiet decisions, made hours and weeks before the doors opened.

What makes that disappearance possible is unglamorous: redundant signal paths, timecode that never drifts, a stage patch labeled well enough to read in the dark. Not decorations on the show — the conditions for it.

A great event is not a sequence of effects. It is a sustained atmosphere — one that took weeks to build and one hour to hold. The job is to hold it.
